Piano Competition of the Music of Nicolas Flagello The Symphony of Westchester and Maelos Music present the sixth annual Piano Competition of the music of Nicolas Flagello for young pianists age 18 and under - Saturday, June 5, 2004 at the New Rochelle Public Library, Westchester County, New York. Prizes given in two categories: Thirteen - eighteen years old (as of June 5, 2004) 1st prize
- $350, 2nd prize -$150 Requirements: Children 12 years old and under must perform La Ninna-Nanna del Cherubino and either: any five movements of Petite Pastels, or all three movements of Episodes for Piano, or Etude. Children 13 - 18 years old must perform both the Waltz in D Major and the Waltz in B Minor or Three Dances (all movements), or Etude and one of the above Waltzes. The music need not be memorized. If the music is not memorized, the participant must use an original (not Xeroxed) copy of the music, obtainable from Maelos Music (information below). There are no geographic restrictions on applicants. There must be more than one applicant in a category for that category's competition to be held. Previous first place winners cannot apply in the same category. All applicants must submit a fully completed application postmarked no later than May 5, 2004.
